Campaign Story
James had encephalocele at birth. He's going to need all the supports he can.
29 October 2018, noon, I was admitted to the hospital for having constant contraction. However, I only gave birth to James the next morning at 7am sharp after being monitored in the labour room for 8hours. Little did we know that James brought a surprise with him from the moment he was born. My OB was surprised as well because she didn't see it in any of the scanning that I had. Later that afternoon, the paediatrician came to see us(my husband and I) and told us that James has encephalocele.
It's a very rare case and honestly, I've never heard of one till I got my sweet James. Less than 2 weeks from now he'll be meeting his neurosurgeon for the first time to discuss what's next. According to the surgeon who explained to me the result of James' MRI, he'll undergo an operation to put the brain cells back inside and remove the sac. Let's pray and hope that whatever is inside the sac at the back of his head is just dead tissue and James can live a normal life just like his older brother and sister. Amen.
We still owe the hospital for the MRI and room charges, and with the surgery coming up, we really need all the help we can get. Therefore I started this crowdfunding for sweet lil James because I love him so much from the first time I knew I was pregnant with him and I want the best for him just like his brother and sister.

The neurosurgeon and the rest of the people involved were wonderful and they made sure that my James was comfy all the way through surgery and his. . . . .

However, they still want to see him and get his blood checked every 2 weeks from now just to make sure. Thanks for your continuous support and
Surgery

He will be admitted on Wednesday for observation, to make sure he's healthy and heavy enough for the surgery. 💪Thanks everyone for the continuous support.God

It's below the worrying level but doc said he might have what they call a prolonged jaundice. James will be seeing the paed again in about 10 more days, to do a blood test.Thanks for your

Photo therapy
Update posted by Fenny Tinsung at 04:45 amAdmitted to Columbia Asia Hospital Miri(CAHM-where he was born) and started photo therapy on 6 November, 9pm++ with bilirubin level of 20.9. Thank God, the next morning, 7 Nov, his bilirubin level went down to 15.4. Doctor advised to stay another night for photo therapy to bring the bilirubin level. . . . .
