Lights On Gaza!

The people of Palestine have gone through so much of suffering. Gaza has been under blockade for 10 years now, termed 'the largest open air prison in the world', 80% of the population lives in poverty. There are almost 2 million people living in Gaza, a city that is commonly called unliveable, because of their blockade, the electricity cuts, the contamination in the beach, the Israeli drones that roar over their homes, the continuous bombings, there being no escape for them from the siege that they live in. They don't even have basic human rights!

Background

Originally, this campaign started as a way to raise funds for their electricity as most of the people in the Gaza strip only get 3-4 electricity a day. This campaign will still continue providing funds for electricity as it has actually become a luxury for the people in Gaza yet we take it for granted. However, I will be broadening the scope of the campaign to provide funds for their basic necessities that they are in dire need of. Because of blockade imposed upon Gaza, more than 3000 critically ill patients are not allowed to leave to get treatments nor are the aid convoys allowed in. This is inhumane and we need to raise our voices to help raise awareness of their plight and let it be known that THIS is a war crime.

Aim of the Campaign

The aim of this Campaign is to raise as much money as we can for as many families as possible to help them with electricity and everyday basic necessities, thus making their life a little easier. This will be an ongoing campaign to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine and help them to reclaim their future back even if it's in a small increment way. With your support, we can give them a better future to look forward to and brighten up their days. We need to show them we stand in solidarity with them.
