Light and Love for Premature Baby Jian Jaire

Hello, we are Jenkin and Jolina Yu, the parents of Baby Jian Jaire G. Yu.

On June 10, 2022, Jolina was admitted in the hospital due to labor pain and was already 1cm dilated. After 4 days, Baby Jian was born 26 weeks premature via emergency cesarean section due to preterm labor and non-reassuring fetal status (fetal bradycardia), weighing only 590g (1 pound, 5 ounces) and 29.5cm long. He is currently confined in Makati Medical Center and needs to stay in the NICU for approximately 3 to 4 months. The estimated bill for the daily medications and NICU stay of Baby Jian would be around 4 to 5 million pesos.

Due to his prematurity, he was diagnosed with the following: Thrombocytopenia (resolved), Neonatal Sepsis (resolved), Neonatal Pneumonia (resolved), Hyperbilirubinemia (resolved), Acute Kidney Injury (resolved), Inguinal Hernia and Retinopathy of Prematurity Zone 2 Stage 1. In addition, he was diagnosed with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia during his newborn screening.

As of this writing, Baby Jian is now on his 68th day in the hospital. The total hospital charges as of now already amounts to 2,976,950.91 pesos, primarily due to the incubator and mechanical ventilation because his lungs are not fully developed yet.
