Life Changing Medical Procedure

Background:

It was 26 May 2006 when it happened… 11 years, 7 months and 28 days later, Dr Jacobsohn identified the problem that caused me allot of pain and discomfort. I have a fractured vertebra at L4/L5 and a herniated disc at L5/S1.

To no avail I have been to MANY medical professionals over South Africa during the last (almost) 12 years; general practitioners, physio therapists, chiropractors, physicians and yes even psychiatrists.

The Procedure:

Spinal Fusion is surgery to join two or more vertebrae into one single structure. The goal is to stop movement between the two bones and prevent back pain. Once they’re fused, they no longer move like they used to. This keeps you from stretching nearby nerves, ligaments, and muscles that may have caused discomfort

Procedure date:

The preliminary date for the procedure is set for 27 Feb 2018.

Financials:

Currently I am on Discovery Medical Insurance but I was advised by Dr Jacobsohn that there will be a substantial shortfall amount. For this shortfall I will need to make a payment arrangement with the Dr Jacobson and also the anaesthetist. The estimate costing is not yet known but I will update the figures on this platform as soon as I hear from the medical professionals.

Currently I have a few standing payments arrangements-not just for my medical care such as the Radiologist but also due to the fact that we as contractors for Eskom have not been given any work since Oct 2017. No work means no salary.

Conclusion:

We are living in very difficult financial times, especially with a corrupt government like we have here in South Africa, it makes it extremely hard for a normal employee like myself to get ahead of my financial obligations, hence this funding idea. As you can imagine this is one of the hardest things I ever had to do-beg for money just to be able to life a normal pain free life. I will be extremely grateful if you open your hearts and help me live a better life. Any amount donated towards this fundraiser, will make the biggest difference in my life.
