Life after transplant

Eddy, my childhood friend since primary 3 had suffered from liver cancer at his age of 9 and went through the process of chemotherapy until 8 years later, he was blessed to have a decease's liver donated to him and had undergo liver transplant operations by NUH.

The surgery kept him alive and free from cancer but the donator himself was a patient who had suffered and died from diabetes, hepatitis A & B and the diseases were being transferred to Eddy after the surgery. Now he is still suffering for the rest of his life due to the bills for his constant visit to the hospital for medical check up and needing life-time medications. His daily doze of self-injected medications are just a heart pain to see.

Even though, the government granted financial aid to cover partial cost of the surgery & medical but still the situation had led his parents into a broken financial and because within the same time his dad lost his job, suffered from dementia, unable to work and leaving his mum the sole breadwinner earning $8/hr laboring at a hawker centre. He's mum had aged and suffer from patella issue for many years due to long hours hard labor work.

Eddy did work but he lost his every single job due to his weak health condition causing him to often faint during work and unable to report to work due to hypoglycemia which all his employers just wouldn't understand and kept pushing him to over perform until he eventually breakdown and often have to be hospitalize for weeks or months. Some of his employers and superiors even abuse him, overloading him with tasks and forcing him to resign without his will.

His health condition is getting bad to worst and unable to even step out to work nor find a suitable job as he was rejected by interviews. He went on days with insufficient amount of food to no food at all until I found out few months ago and pocket out myself to ensure he have at least a meal a day.

I am a student who can't help much for now and was hoping to seek kindness from your donations to allow him to endure through another 2 years until I finish my studies and able to help my best friend to get better and move on step by step.
