Liam’s Hearing Journey

Our son, Liam Claude Mesina has been diagnosed with Bilateral Profound Sensorineural Hearing loss. He is an eight year old boy who loves to swim, and is now showing interests in hiking and other outdoor activities.

December 2018, with the prayers and help from goodhearted individuals from family and friends, we were fortunate enough to have Liam's first implant done 22days before his 5th birthday. Since then, with the help of his continuous Auditory Verbal Therapy, we have seen so much progress in Liam’s speech and interaction with other people. He is now able to read few simple words, identify colors, count and communicates with other kids. We’ve noticed that his favorite subject is Math as he is excited, and we see joy in his eyes whenever he’s able to correctly answer simple addition, subtraction, and fractions. He is now able to tell time as well and he will be in second grade next school year.

It would be very beneficial for Liam to have a cochlear implant on his right ear but the cost of the device itself has gone up to over Php 700k plus the doctor and other hospital bills. We are appealing to your kind and generous hearts to help our Liam have a normal life and have a clearer sound of the world around him.
