Liam Andrew: Grad School Fund

Hello!

My name is Liam Andrew Cura. I'm looking to raise money to pursue an MFA/BFA Graphic Design degree in the United Kingdom.

I am a graphic designer and illustrator based in Manila, Philippines. I graduated with honors from the University of the Philippines, College of Fine Arts, majoring in Visual Communication. Since then, I have worked at a design studio and I have also done a lot of work as a freelancer over the past two years. Aside from starting to build a career as a creative, it has so been my goal to pursue graduate studies and gain experience as a design educator.

Last February, I was offered admission into five different programs across three different schools in the United Kingdom. These schools are the University of Westminster, University of Portsmouth, and Kingston University. At this point, I only need to formally accept an offer at a school in order to study there by August of 2019. However, I still lack the required average tuition of £20,000 in order to go to school. The total tuition estimate includes tuition fees, housing, board, and travel expenses. At this point, I have not been offered any scholarships or awards to help me cover the expenses, though I'm currently sending out applications to grant giving organizations.

With this in mind, I would like to reach out to the backers of Go Get Funding to help me pursue graduate school abroad. One day, I hope share my knowledge with younger creatives as a professor in the Philippines. I pledge to return to Manila and teach design, as well as help strengthen the creative industry as a practicing professional. I am highly dedicated to pursuing excellence in my field. I'd be delighted to share my experience with others and impact the communities of both Maryland and Manila in positive ways.
