Saved from the meat market of South Korea Alicia (Li-Sha) arrived to the United States in 2017, just before Christmas. This bouncy bundle of joy was so happy to be rescued and saved and live the life she always deserved. Her new adoptive mother was so happy to have saved her and they both knew that each one of them needed the other. She is now safe and free and in a loving home with good food, a comfortable bed, lots of walks, toys to play with and a human to shower her with love. We thought her story would be over there but at 6 years old Li-Sha was recently diagnosed at Penn State Oncology with both uterine and mammary masses. She’s been though a lot to determine this – exams, an ultra sound, CT scan, multiple x-rays and biopsies. The good news is, her chest x-rays are clear and there is no sign of infiltration in the lymph nodes. Removal of the masses are scheduled a week from today, March 5th. Leiomyosarcoma is a smooth muscle tumor, and with clean surgical margins, after 6-8 weeks of recovery, Li-Sha should have many more years living the life she deserves. Please reach into your pockets and hearts and help us save her once again!
