Help for our friend, Lovely Grace “LG” Camarillo, in her battle against Brain Tumor.
LG graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology in Polytechnic University of the Philippines – one of the renowned educational institutions in the country. With her skills and intellect, she received a job offer in a Technology-based Company and has been working for more than two years already.
At her young age (22), she has been a good provider and breadwinner for her family ever since she started working. Being the oldest among five siblings, LG supports his father in ensuring that they provide and sustain their family’s daily needs. She helps with the monthly bills and other necessities in their household.
LG is also gifted with talents in drawing and playing musical instruments – mainly guitar. She loves reading books and blogs and watches K-Dramas and MVs on her vacant times. She is also a pet lover and owns two cats and a dog. She also joins marathons and events for cause in an out of the company she’s working at.
But her active lifestyle is greatly affected by her medical condition.
At the first quarter of year 2019, there was a case when she passed out inside a bus, on her way to work. The same case had been randomly occurring to her in their home. She was said to be over-fatigued and was advised to take a few days of rest. The doctor also pin-pointed her being anemic as the possible cause of such events. It was until last month, October 2019, that she found out the root cause of it.
She is diagnosed with Brain Tumor, particularly on the right side of her brain. Her condition affects her memory, balance, speech, vision, hearing and nerves – mostly on the left part of her body. This is also why she always feel drowsy and tired even when doing little efforts and short walks – unlikely to her usual self.
Her doctor also mentioned that her condition is rare. Her age, 22, is too young as compared to most of the cases of brain tumor which are of ages 40 and above. The size of tumor is just a few inches larger than a ping-pong ball, as shown in her MRI. The most-prescribed treatment is through a surgery as her case won’t be cured through meds. She was also advised that it will be the best to remove the tumor ASAP to avoid the possibility of it to cause brain damage and disability to the left parts of her body.
She is scheduled to undergo a surgery on the second week of November. After the surgery, she will go under an assessment to figure whether she needs to take a radiation treatment or chemotherapy. The tumor that will be removed from her brain will be forwarded to a Pathology expert to determine its kind.
But despite all the treatments and surgery, her seizures will still occur as per her doctor. Hence, she will be prescribed with maintenance medication to prevent such occurrence.
We, her friends, are reaching out for any help we could gather for her.
