the following highlight is from a proposal from which i'm planning to implement. funding solicited from this is aimed at assisting therpeutic groups that i (social worker) will be runing on campus at varsity, in attempt to deal with discrimination, and problems of LGBTI youth at campus. these funds will enable communication, and running of these services till stable funding is obtained. i will not dislose the unieversity i am at, unless if it is of utmost importance.

Most of LGBTI students suffer from social exclusion. This can easily be understood under the banner of discrimination. There is a need to inform and educate gay students on how to respond to discrimination based on their sexuality. The discrimination has been witnessed and reported by many LGBTI clients/students. The university body had perpetuated a culture of discrimination towards LGBTI. The housing department have in number of times received LGBTI complaining about discrimination at residence, the housing department responds by removing a well settled and happy LGBTI youth and take them to a different residence. In addition to that they do not punish or charge the perpetrator of any crime, cases reported at Risk Management Service (RMS) never get solved, reported the majority of LGBTI youth during consultations. To the unspeakable point, housing department workers argue that the LGBTI youth discriminated against has a problem, not the perpetrator of discrimination. This unfair treatment of LGBTI students has fueled students to behave in ways that is harmful to themselves and to others. Such as a surge of health hazardous behavior like unsafe sex practices and remaining in the closet / hiding ‘closeted’ ofLGBTI.
