Jhonee was hospitalized in Cebu last April; he was diagnosed with brain lesions. We were forced by the situation to leave our jobs, since no one is available to take care of my spouse aside from me; thus we lost our source of income. We were able to save some money for our supposed US immigration, but unfortunately due to this turn of events we had slowly depleted our funds for our day-to-day expenses and dues.

In April and May, we tried as much as we could to comply with the medical management prescribed to Jhonee. We optimized his PT and religiously attended follow up appointments. As hard as I could, I tried to make his diet as healthy as possible. Together with all of our family and friends, we have been praying so hard for his recovery.

We thought he was improving; however, in the past few weeks his cognitive abilities had slowly and continuously declined.

Early part of June, I already prompted my relatives and our friends that we might temporarily need financial support to help us get through this medical situation. I had to bring him to our place in Bulacan, since I already need the support of my family in taking care of my spouse. It has already become a little more difficult, since we already also had lost his healthcare insurance at that time.

He had his second MRI of the brain in Manila (first was in April in Cebu). We were still trying to push through with the US immigration processing until we reached the day before the embassy interview. At that time, we had to deliberate and make a decision. The symptoms have become more apparent, and we decided to park the processing in the mean time and dedicated our everything in his treatments.

Currently, Jhonee has 2 doctors managing him. I also had disclosed to them our concerns with money, but I understand that if we wish Jhonee to recover we cannot take much risks. He is now confined in Manila. Today he'll undergo another MRI of the brain, now with contrast and another (invasive) diagnostic procedure later to rule out a concomitant illness. I was able to pay for the deposit; however, I am not quite sure if until when our funds can last.

Let me please thank everyone who have already extended their help to us :-) There are so many of Jhonee's friends, my family/relatives and friends who have already shared so much for Jhonee's healing and recovery. I just can't mention everybody one by one, for the fear of forgetting anyone :-)

Now, I again humble knock on your doors for help. This is for Jhonee's continuous treatment.

The doctors are positive that if we'll be able to get to the bottom of this, we might get Jhonee the right medications and treatments and subsequently, lead him to his recovery. I will drive this medical journey to the very end until my spouse is well!

At the earliest opportunity, I will deliberate with our agency the plan and the timelines involved in Jhonee's dream of getting in the US to get his struggling mother, who is around 75yrs old, alone, and trying to make ends meet. Mama is also in tiptoe and very worried about Jhonee; she mentioned to me once that she already feels helpless that she can't take care of his son, and all these happened at the very last leg of Jhonee's realization of his American Dream. As soon as I have the plan, I will definitely start looking for a job that may provide the needs of my family.

Jhonee's condition right now is a little more delicate than ordinary, so he would really need the care of someone, who will be as compassionate and loving as his mother. I am not his mother, but I'm trying my hardest to be even as half as (not just a husband but also as) a parent to him.

I, Mama, Jhonee's family and friends, my family and friends are not giving up; most importantly, Jhonee himself never at any point faltered. He said once, "Baby, gagaling p ko. Makakapagtrabaho pa ko."

Let's help my spouse, please :-)
