Campaign Story
Dear Friends, all over the world,
Let us become founders of an Orthodox Monastery in Italy!!!
https://www.astegiudiziarie.it/vendita-asta-conven...
My name is Sister NICOLAIDA, I am a Moldavian Orthodox nun living in Italy, and this is an urgent appeal to your generosity requesting your support for save our monastery, which will be sold at auction here in Italy.
After the earthquake that destroyed the Orthodox Cathedral of Santa Croce in Aquila, the bishop made a bank loan guaranteeing with the monastery. After his death in 2009, the monastery was seized but with the possibility of remaining in the monastery until it is sold. Today the rules have changed and the monastery has recently been closed to the faithful.
The Property we hope to save is located in the very heart of Italy, in Campo di Carne, just a few kilometers away from Rome. Italy was famously abundant in monasteries, and the Italian landscape is sanctified by the ascetic labours and constant prayer of countless monastics for hundreds of years in the first millennium.
They have lowered their asking price to an extent which has created a great opportunity for us - from the 550,000 euro the property was assessed at, down to 178,500 euro.
The most recent good news is that we will be allowed to pay until the end of July 2021.
Nevertheless, our appeal is both urgent and necessary as we are seeking to save the monastery AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
HOW MUCH IS NEEDED?
For all who want and can help us financially, we have set the goal of raising 178.000 euro as soon as we can, since we already have some euro raised previously.
WHY do we want to raise the money AS SOON AS POSSIBLE?
Because the monastery will be destroyed forever, making way for a supermarket
