Campaign Story
Nearly one-quarter of the world's dolphin species are threatened with extinction, mostly due to habitat loss and live capture, according to IUCN. The demise of coral reefs, however, affects the entire ocean ecosystem - a quarter of all marine fish speciesreside in the reefs, according to The Nature Conservancy.
Once the coral is dead, the reefs will also die and erode, destroying important marine life spawning and feeding grounds. ... And these are just the results that scientists can predict with near certainty — though many point out they can't predict everything that might happen if the coral reefs disappear.
My aim is to travel to Fiji, Indonesia, Belize and Madagascar to help conservation efforts in repairing, planting and organising efforts to improve coral reef life across these regions while also tracking marine life.
The full amount will be used to pay for the volunteer positions, diving tanks, accommodation and tickets.
Rewards
