Let’s rebuild Tall Tamer hospital in Rojava

The five-year war in Syria has changed the face of the nation, burdening a population that is subject to ongoing bombardments and clashes between differing factions.

Tall Temir, in Rojava, is one of the most heavily struck regions; comprised of 133 villages, the capital city, named as the region, has a population of over 50,000 inhabitants. For years it has seen clashes between ISIS and the Kurdish resistance culminating in the 2015 December 15 ^th ISIS led bombardment that destroyed the main roads and the only hospital in the city.

The medical staff has created a facility for emergency care, but the structure, sustained exclusively by a local branch of Kurdish Red Crescentdoes not have adequate means to supply necessary medical care, or to admit patients. Recently, there has been an overwhelming amount of infections, including Leishmaniasis, a disease caused by sandfly bites.

Kurdish Red Crescent has decided to intervene. Its plan is ambitious: it hopes to reconstruct the hospital so as to provide access to surgery along with pediatric, gynecological, and therapeutic care. In addition, the hospital plans to have an infectious disease ward and provide an ambulance that would eventually connect the entire region, giving refugees and displaced families in the North of Syria access to primary and secondary health care.

The Italian Kurdish Red Crescent is rasing 250.000USD to rebuild and manage the hospital.
