Campaign Story
On the afternoon of February 18, Saturday, a fire broke out in Renee’s home in Barangay Santa Cruz, Antipolo City while only her mom and visiting sister were at home.
Fire had already engulfed the second floor of the house before her mom noticed smoke and the two evacuated the premises. Her mom, already with stage 3 kidney failure, had a seizure while evacuating, which required all emergency attention be focused on her condition rather than retrieving any of the house contents.
The result being that absolutely nothing could be saved before the fire engulfed the house and its entire contents. The two story house itself is a total loss and will be completely torn down by the local government due to it being a safety hazard.
The family of 8 has spent the first couple of days in a rescue shelter while awaiting medical clearance to move her mother to a family member's house to take them in temporarily.
We are asking for any assistance you can offer to help them get them back on their feet after this tragedy.
