Campaign Story
Our dad, Willy Chu suffered from a Brainstem Stroke on Dec 22, 2019. He is currently inside the hospital's Neuro Critical Care Unit being monitored and trying to recover, however, he is still under a critical and life-threatening condition because the blood clot is at the brainstem - this is a vital part that controls his breathing, heartbeat, blood pressure, speech, swallowing, hearing, and eye movements.
Current condition:
He opens his eyes once in awhile at most likely to be an hour straight on some days, breathing is with the help of a ventilator machine, unable to talk, unable to move his arms and hands, small movement of his feet.
In order to help him with his breathing without being dependent on the ventilator, his pulmonary doctor recommended that he undergo a tracheotomy surgery. This will also help to lessen him contracting Pneumonia. He has been scheduled to go for the operation on Jan 10, 2020.
Our loving father has been admitted for 14 days and his medical bill is already past P340,000 excluding the upcoming operation, doctor's fee, some of his medicine, and medical supplies he needs on a daily basis.

We are very thankful to his relatives, friends, and colleagues for extending financial help to us. Yet, we have anticipated that the expense will continue to go up next week while waiting for the operation and until he is fit to go home. His doctor also mentioned that he will require extensive therapy after being discharged from the hospital.
Yes, we understand that this is a long journey but we believe our dad deserves to live his life.

Tracheotomy Surgery Completed Successfully!
Update posted by Maureen Chu at 05:03 pmHi Everyone,We wish to update you all that dad's tracheotomy operation has been pushed earlier since the doctors have already cleared that he can proceed. It was done this afternoon and 2 doctors attended to him. The operation was done in less than an hour but dad has to stay. . . . .
