Let’s help the victims of Natural Disaster.

About 14 million people are being made homeless on average each year as a result of sudden disasters!

Hi, My name is Ravin Thangarajoo. I'm 20 years old from Malaysia. Currently, I'm a student in a local university studying Computer Science.

A unique modelling exercise based on the latest data covering 204 countries and territories calculates that sudden onset disasters such as floods and cyclones, are displacing on average 13.9 million people each year, excluding those involved in pre-emptive evacuations.

Most of this displacement is being driven by flooding which is on the increase in a warming world where population growth in hazard-prone parts of the world has increased exposure.

Eight of the ten countries with the highest levels of Average Annual Displacement or probable risk of future displacement and loss of housing are in south and south-east Asia: -

* India, 2.3 million

* China, 1.3 million

* Bangladesh, 1.2 million

* Vietnam, 1.0 million

* Philippines, 720,000

* Myanmar, 570,000

* Pakistan, 460,000

* Indonesia, 380,000

* Russia, 250,000

* USA, 230,000.

The risk of displacement could rise as populations swell and the impacts of climate change become more severe, said a report issued on Friday by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and the Geneva-based Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC).

Meanwhile, i know this project that i'm doing individually "currently" is going to be tough and hard. As we're from Malaysia, we will be doing small helps for the homeless people around here by providing water and food in a weekly/monthly basis. I believe in my idea and i could somehow make an impact in the society in spreading love and being there for the others. Thank you.
