The Lumad Peoples are indigenous peoples from Mindanao. They are good representatives of what we can consider this Philippine island's "original inhabitants".

I cannot even begin to describe how much our Lumad peoples need our help and support, now and forever until attacks on them, unworthy claim on their land and their displacement end and true understanding of their culture, identity and even the issues they face begin (and continue...), once and for all.

So, for my 23rd birthday, I want nothing but any amount of financial help for our Lumad brothers and sisters, especially the youth. They are in dire need of school and medical supplies, especially because of the series of events that happened in 2015.

I will be coordinating with the organization, Katribu (http://www.katribu.org/), through my good friend and batchmate, Bernadette Almanzor, who is an active member. They will be helping me distribute whatever we collect - which is hopefully enough, if not, a lot. :) I am still trying to get a hold of the other heroic organizations who have been reaching out and/or representing the Lumad people.
