Let’s help Shan

Hello everyone. I’m Leslie, I want to help my friend which is a hard working mom. She has a sick son. His name is Kyzoku Ashantee Ferrera. We call him Shan. Was born on February 03, 2010. He’s 8 years old. He has a dream of becoming a great soldier when he grows up. My friend, Jhen, his mother is a plain housewife. She takes care of his children. Her husband is a cook but it is not enough for their daily needs and Shan’s medicines.

He was diagnosed with Thalassemia, sadly, it has no cure. Bone marrow and gene theraphy is the only way to cure it. But it’s not yet done here in the Philippines. The only way to prevent it from getting worst is through blood transfusions. The doctors said, Shan has merely 20 years to live. As a mother, you will do everything for your child to extend his life.

What he needs:

Every three months, Shan has to undergo blood tranfusions. 1 pack of Prbc blood.

And a maintenance of Deferoxamine. Subcue. It goes through Shan’s skin for almost 12 hours. It helps to maintain the right level of Iron.

His vitamin is folic acid.
