No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth.

- Robert Southey

Dear friends, we have lost the battle, but it was a good fight. Russell is in a better place now. The remaining funds gathered in this account will be used to aid the family for the remaining medical expenses. Funeral details to follow.

Dear Russell,

You have been a source of inspiration and strength for years, and will continue to be even in your death. You will remain in our hearts and mind as a man of great faith and kindness.

OLD POST:

Russell Endaya, a very dedicated and hardworking student, has recently acquired a rare infection called Multi-Drug Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, which is in basic terms a type of bacteria that is resistant to most antibiotics.

Russell is a dear friend who has proven how hardworking and diligent he is. Apart from attending and assisting consistently in the lunchtime masses at the prayer room back in high school, he has volunteered in numerous mass celebrations of the school when he was still a student, and had also excelled in his academics.

He chose to be a medical student so that he can become a doctor and help out patients in need of medical assistance. He took his undergrad studies in UP Diliman, and is now a student in St. Luke's.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned, he had recently gone down with an infection. What started out as pneumonia worsened during the final weeks of December. He was confined to Marikina Valley Medical Center, but after two weeks, his condition only worsened and he was eventually intubated. He has significantly lost weight and no longer looks the way he used to.

He has been transferred to St. Luke's and has begun showing better progress. His vitals have stabilized and he is now getting more sleep than he used to, but is still battling for his life.

We are humbly asking those who can find it in their hearts to donate and help a friend, a dedicated student, and a dedicated Christian.

Kindly donate through this GoGetFunding account. This account is linked to a PayPal account we've created using Russell's savings account.

For those who would like to donate directly to the bank account of Russell's mother, here are the details:

Please keep Russell in your prayers.

Let's help save Russell Endaya.

  • I wish I could have donated earlier when he was still alive, but I hope this goes a long way to help the parents settle the hospitalization bill. Thanks UPCAF for bringing us together in difficult times, but our small community can express solidarity in these circumstances, as well as in times of success.

  • I'm an alumni of St. Luke's and just like this.kid, I acauired pneumonia during my 2nd year which had me admitted for 5 days at SLMC. It was, if I remember it right, Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection. So nakakarelate talaga ako sa batang ito. My prayers are with you and your family. Kung nalampasan ko, malalampasan mo rin yan. God bless. :)
