Let’s Help Promise…and Many like him!

Promise Ndlovu is a 30-year old undocumented Zimbabwean, living in South Africa. Due to terrible living conditions in Zimbabwe, Promise came to South Africa, hoping to find some kind of work, in order to send money home to his family, who are practically starving. Research indicated that by the end of 2019, more than 60% of Zimbabweans would not be able to see to their daily food needs. Then, in October 2019, talks of the Coronavirus hit the headlines, and its potential danger to the world population. Hard lockdowns severely limited people's ability to make a living, which resulted in more and more Zimbabweans running the gauntlet of illegally crossing the border into South Africa, in the hope of anything better. Currently, there are about 1.5 million undocumented migrants in South Africa. Unfortunately, none of them qualify for relief aid, which places a major strain on local aid agencies, who are already stretched to their limits trying to assist needy South Africans. Our registered NPO, Help us Grow (HUGs), will focus during the Covid 19 pandemic on helping those undocumented migrants survive this trying time, as well as our Gift-a-Blanket drive,which will provide blankets, clothing and food to poor and destitute South Africans.

Our sister project Tlou Amandla Arts Group (T.A.A.G.), will step in immediately to assist with another crisis that faces our youh, 74% unemployment. We have been focusing on Youth Training and Skills Development for a number of years and will step up that initiative in the fields of Media (Television & Video, Writing, Photography, Graphic Design), Social Media (Marketing, Online Jobs, Make Money Online) and Culture (Art, Dance, Theatre, Events Management).

We therefore appeal to your generosity in order for us to achieve our above goals, and also to get as many people as possible to vaccinate, as we await the impact of dangerous new Covid19 variants, like Omicron.
