My name is Kathryn McFarland
and I am currently in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. I am here as a student with my DTS Outreach team. We initially came here to reach the Newari people in Kathmandu Valley but when the earthquake hit we dropped all the plans that we had made and started working on helping the people who had been hit by the earthquake.
We are a team, with people from all over the world, that is working directly with the people of Nepal. We were also caught in the earthquake, and now we want to help. We are living amidst the Nepali and we see their needs due to the current catastrophe.
After the major earthquake, the people were given instructions by the government to stay outside of their homes for fear of another major earthquake until they had been given the all clear.
The people are on the streets, but there are no shelters provided, food, drinking water, or blankets. These are basic needs that the people have, and because we are on location we can help immediately if the funds are given.
Your support will provide the basic survival needs for the people of Kathmandu Valley.
