Let’s help our favorite Tita Gie get her surgery! :)

Hi everyone! This is Steve, the only son of your favorite Tita Gie. I'm here to knock on your kind hearts and ask for help on securing funds for her upcoming surgery.

Virginia Malla, or better known as Tita Gie, is a kind and loving person. She's what you can call your favorite neighbor who brings you food when there's a celebration or visits your house to mingle. Always carrying a smile on her face, she walks the streets of Sampaloc doing everything she can to make ends meet. She also loves to cook. Actually, she's my mentor in cooking. When I was still small, she always keeps me by her side and teach me how to cook her favorite meals. Eventually, these foods she make end up in other's houses as she sells them regularly by order-basis, and everybody loves it that nothing gets left unbought.

Two years ago, she felt difficultness in talking and swallowing, and a soft lump can be felt on her neck. She had her check-up at UST and was advised by the doctor not to worry since the lump was only liquid by then and will just dissolve in time. Fast-forward to now, she noticed the lump is getting bigger. Talking and swallowing is now becoming harder for her, so she decided to go to other doctors to have a second and third look at it. After a series of tests, she was diagnosed with Multi-nodular Non-Toxic Goiter and has to undergo Total Thyroidectormy and biopsy.

This coming week, she will be admitted at a hospital where the procedure can be done in the safest way and also in the most affordable cost. But due to the pandemic, the cost is still higher compared to when it was before. This is why we have created this GoGetFunding campaign to ease off the financial burden as both her and her husband are retired and above the age of 70.
