¥373,150raised of ¥500,000.00 goal goal

As many of you know, our good friend Lawrie Livie was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer this fall. Since then, he's undergone an operation that removed 20cm of his colon, as well as a second tumor above his naval. Although the surgery was a success, the cancer looks to have spread to other lymph nodes. He's currently pushing through a 2nd cycle of chemotherapy.
Anyone who knows Lawrie well knows that he's humble, generous, and stoic. Despite the mounting hospital bills (compounded by fewer paid working days), our proud Scotsman would never think to ask for help.
Which is precisely why we're gonna give it to him, his pride be damned. Any contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. As organizer of this fundraiser, I promise to make sure every last yen you donate will end up in his hands (even if I have to force it on him).
I've set the initial goal at ¥500,000, but hope that we can smash through it over the next couple of months to help him come out on the other side in a better place physically, mentally, and financially.
A gentle reminder that this is all very much a secret, and to please do your part to keep it off his radar.
Thanks very much in advance, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Hey all, want to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated to help Lawrie out. It's a big, big help to him. He knows of the campaign and, as expected, wasn't especially happy about it as he doesn't feel comfortable receiving money from friends. But in the end. . . . .
