As most of you have probably heard, our friend John Kohntopp has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As you can imagine, this was a huge blow to him and his wife Hilary. John has been an active member of our community and was a dedicated teacher and FFA advisor for 19 years, half of which were spent coaching girls basketball. Last spring, John resigned to commute back and forth to Idaho to help his aging parents who aren’t in great health themselves. In October, John had severe abdominal pain and after many tests, they removed his gallbladder. Shortly after Christmas he went in for additional testing as he was still in extreme pain and not making much progress. This is when they discovered the cancer. John is no longer able to work and Hilary is still teaching full time to carry the health insurance. They have 2 children in college and one in high school with major medical expenses building up for tests and treatment. If you can find it in your heart to help, I know that this family would be forever grateful. They are always the first to lend a hand and the last to ask for help. Let’s be that help for them in this difficult time.
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
