Joachim was transferred to PGH and have started undergoing Chemotherapy. As of the moment, Medical Bills at St. Luke's Hospital are still unsettled. Joachim and his family are living in Calamba, Laguna. Before getting admitted in Manila, they have approached three hospitals in Laguna. However, all the hospitals were unable to admit him due to unavailability of Pulmonologist and lack of rooms. With no options left, he was rushed to St. Luke's Medical Center's Emergency Room in Global City due to chest pain. They have removed the excessed fluids in his lungs. After the procedure, Joachim still complains of chest pain and so the doctors have conducted a series of tests. On his CT scan, a tumor bigger than his heart has been found. And according to a biopsy procedure, it was malignant. As of the moment, the working diagnosis on Joachim's case is T-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Part of doctor's action plan for Joachim's treatment is Chemotherapy. With all of the tests and procedures that have been perfomed on Joachim, a hefty amount of PhP 800,000 is still unpaid. Doctors of St. Luke's Medical Center have advised the family to transfer Joachim to Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to avail the services with a lower cost.
