Let`s help Daria and make her dream come true

Story told by Daria`s mother.

"The story starts on 9th of October 2009. Daria was born premature at 29 weeks, with only 1300 grams ( 2.86 lbs) and lack of oxygen. A major part to her condition was that the transport from maternity to the Capital city Bucharest hospital was delayed for a couple of days, very crucial to her condition unaware at that moment. From the first steps we realize that something is wrong with her and she has a problem, even though she was showing signs of good recovery after the premature birth. The diagnoses was harsh. Cerebral palsy + spastic paraplegia. From an early age ( one year old and a few months) we are doing all kinds of therapy (kinetotherapy, hydro kinesiotherapy, nirvana, stabilizer, physiotherapy, osteopathy, paraffin, botulinum toxin); without a normal holiday ( most of holidays are spent in clinics of recovery, centers and at home) practicing what we learned from the kinetic specialists we have seen. The big hope that Daria-Maria can be a normal independent child more than 90% came from the famous doctor T.S. Park from St. Louis Children's Hospital. We applied for a consult and Dr. T.S. Park could see our angel on 2nd of November 2018 in Bucharest. The result of this appointment and evaluation of the doctor was that Daria-Maria has to go to US to have an SDR surgery. For her to have a chance to be fully independent, to have a chance to tie her shoes, to climb stairs, to dance, to just be normal she needs this surgery. The joy that she could be a happy kid after the surgery is still a dream that we hope to achieve. This surgery is extremely necessary as Dr. T.S. Park said that if she does not do the SDR ( although we can see improvements from all the therapy sessions we had) in the next few years will see a big regression that will send her most probably in the wheel chair or a walking frame ( Zimmer Frame ).
