I have decided to help raise funds to build a monastery (Aramaya) in the Kalutara district, Sri Lanka where a land has already been secured in Horana.
The monastery will be helmed by chief Abbot, Dhammanisanthi thero to provide refugee for a few monks and to serve as a centre for knowledge exchange; to teach thripitaka dhamma to followers from around the world.
The venerable monks plan to take on the difficult task of correctly translating original Buddhist scripts from Theravada Buddhism, as they believe the current translations have discrepancies. Once the monastery is built, monks who are fluent in English, Burmese and Pali will be invited to reside at the monastery and help with the translations.
Lord Buddha considered the gift of knowledge (dhamma dhanaya) to be the noblest of all gifts. So my friends, I feel this project is our opportunity to support a great cause, collect good merit and to unravel the path to peace and happiness for us and future generations.
I sincerely hope you will join me to realise this project.
Thanks for your time and blessings.
