Let’s get SANDY moving again

My mom is one of those people that lights up the room no matter what. She has this amazing aura that you can’t help but stop and stare at her. She is also the kind of person that would rather have YOU shine instead of her. Because she is kind and generous and creative and smart.

She is also one of the few that, unfortunately, developed Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks part of its nervous system. Guillain-Barré or GBS is estimated to affect about 1 in 100,000 each year. Severe cases of GBS are rare but can result in near-total paralysis.

She is currently in the ICU receiving treatment and they’ve recently intubated her to help her breathe because she is also having an asthma attack.

There is no known cure for GBS but treatments can help improve the symptoms and shorten its duration.

However, managing this sickness can take some time and is costly - way beyond our means. I appeal to your kind hearts to help us help my mom recover so she can continue shining her light on us whom she loves and who love her very much.
