"Real change requires re-thinking the fundamentals!"

Innovation is recognized today as a powerful tool for social, economic and even cultural growth and evolution. Yet, often, only innovations that emerge from capital intensive technical industries are considered 'innovations', including by high level global innovation and development indices. This leaves a large number of smaller, yet highly innovative persons, associations, foundations and industries out of the socio-political, legal, and economic discussions that lead to the formulation of laws and policies that govern the 21st century global market place.

In order to facilitate and nurture harmonious, multi-cultural, sustainable and democratic living in the 21st century global village, a renewed discussion on 'Ethics in Innovation' becomes necessary - not only is it necessary to consider what constitutes an 'Ethical Innovation', but also whether the very definition of 'innovation' today is based on ethical and culturally sensitive determinants.

With the aim of expanding the dialogue pertaining to ‘ethics’, ‘innovations’ and ‘ethics in innovation’, the World Youth Forum for Ethics in Innovation (WYF 2017), organized jointly by the World Forum for Ethics in Business and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation & Competition (MPI), seeks to bring students and young professionals from the world over to one platform to discuss these issues with global leaders, thinkers, innovators and academics.

The WYF 2017 and the linked Ethics in Innovation (EII) Conference will take place in Munich from 23-27 June 2017. Funds are needed to fly in student-participants and to accommodate them during this time in Munich.
