My best friend was diagnosed with cervical cancer in January this year. She has been told that she needs to have an operation in a months time to avoid the cancer from spreading. She unfortunately does not have a medical aid or a hospital plan and no means to raise the required funds in time for when she needs the operation.
She is a single mother, raised her boy on her own, struggled to keep a business going and regardless of all the struggles she still reaches out each month and help other families put food on their table when they are not able to. She is one of the most caring, loving and giving individuals that I have the privilege to know.
The reason for me reaching out and asking for help, not only have I lost my own father to cancer, when us too did not have the means for medical treatment, but it hurts every day to see how this amazing woman fights to stay ahead and to stay positive regardless of this huge weight on her shoulders.
