In every office set up, there is a “Kuya” who always comes first to work and clean up your work space, ran errands for you and does all of these with a smile no matter how tired they are.

Our Kuya Dante is one of our utility staff we rely on everyday. He buys our pandesal for breakfast, brings us buchi from Bulacan when he comes back to work after his weekend break. During the ECQ, he could not go back to work because of the restrictions and there was no public transportation, he paid 600 pesos to ride with a private car and get to our office at Timog. Last Wednesday, May 27, he had an unfortunate accident while doing his tasks, the glass board he was unscrewing suddenly shattered in his wrist, severing several veins. He had to undergo an emergency surgery in order to save his life. His agency does not want cover his hospital bills despite their accident insurance benefits and Kuya Dante can’t be discharged because he can’t pay his bills. We tried to solicit funds but it was still not enough to cover his almost Php300K hospital bill. What about his take home meds and follow up check up? He can’t go back to work if his hand won’t heal. This may be a difficult time for everyone, but, if you could find it in you heart to share whatever you could, we implore your help for Kuya Dante. May God bless you all

We had to rush him to the nearest hospital from our office, Capitol Medical Center, he lost so much blood already while we were administering first aid, the attending doctor told us had we been there few mins late, Kuya Dante could have lost his hand or worse, his life. He even shouted when we were trying to call the agency and his family who could sign the consent. Kuya Dante is single and but supports his orphaned nieces and nephews.
