Let’s help Emi!!!

Emi needs our help!

I ran into Marcos the other day (who needs extra work if anyone knows any available) and he gave me an update on our favorite little guy, Emi.  He said that way back, when we were giving Emi some good natured ribbing on not being able to handle the heat in the kitchen, Emi was diagnosed with a heart issue.  Then, when he disappeared, it was because he had suffered a major stroke.  Emi was hospitalized for over 2 weeks:  life support, feeding tube, etc.  Paralyzed from neck down.  Recently, he's been on home care (Marcos is now taking care of him) and has just started to be able to talk, eat for himself (only liquids though), and get around a little.  But he's still not working, etc.

We all know and love Emi.  He was always in good spirits and a great, reliable guy to work with.  Like many legal Mexicans, he worked hard and sent all the money he made here back to his extended family back in Mexico.  He has no family here, no income, no savings, cannot drive, and can barely feed himself and speak.  Medical bills were astronomical and he cannot afford proper rehabilitation services.

Let's get some extra holiday magic for our favorite little guy! Please donate whatever you can, but all donations must be in by December 22 so that we can present it to him for Christmas.
