Campaign Story
Hello kind dog lovers!
Our 7 year old female chocolate lab Mocca has fast progressing cataracts in both eyes which causes her very blurry vision making her bump into things whenever she moves around. She is very active and in spite of her disability she's very happy dog. But it's hard to see her bump into things even around the house and it just breaks my heart to see she can not see her toys but has to sniff them out.
This past week (last week in August) she had her final check up and she is eligible for lens surgery that will help her see again. Her blood and urine tests are okay and she is in good general health to withstand anesthesia and surgery. The procedure will be performed by prof. doctor with proven success record at his clinic a Veterinary Faculty in Zagreb Croatia.
The total amount we are raising is exact needed to cover the balance of what we can not afford to pay for total pre and post op check ups and medical therapy as well as the operation. We are covering all other expenses (travel, care and transport) for the duration of this ordeal.
Planned date for pre op procedure is mid September, depending on our organization and their schedule. I will keep you all informed and will scan all bills and post them. I will also post tons of pictures of our dear choco Mocca!

Boris is verypositive and Mocca is getting better every minute. She still can not see but it's to be expected, I'm told. Normally, it takes 3-4 days. . . . .

Cataract Surgery is ON - Tuesday, Sep 29

Mocca's test results are good, and we are going ahead with her cataract surgery. There are several pre-surgery procedures and therapy that we need to administer, but we are good to go! i am sooo happy!On the other. . . . .

This is the surgery where they'll tell us if her eyesight is still okay for the main procedure to be even an option. Now starts the longest hour and a half for me.The pic is from the waiting room.

Update posted by Marina Stanojevic Vecerina at 09:44 amDear all, just wanted to share what has been done so far and what's coming up.Mocca gave blood and urine samples and all markers are OK. We had to do this for two reasons - to see if the reason for her cataracts was diabetes which would imply a much. . . . .
We've reached 10% in first 24 hours!!!
