Nelson Mandela, a legend in South Africa, once said: " Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".
Nelson Mandela died years ago, but his statement still rings true today.
In South Africa, and many parts of Africa, education has been used as a tool and a resource to get out of poverty and to find work for a better life for you and your family. Your chances of success, are greatly increased when you have been educated. There are no opportunities here for people who lack education. Governments promise free housing, free education, free everything; and nothing they say ever comes to fruition.
There are so many children, like my girl, who have bright futures and great potential, but lack the resources and the right support structures to pursue a better life for themselves.
My girl lives in a small home, not the greatest part of town, with 2 other siblings and a mom. Dad is completely absent. She works part time, and she works very hard at school. She is very bright, kind, empathetic, compassionate, and has a passion for social issues. She is on her way to excellence, and I really think we should all join her and help her on this journey. We should show her that there are loving, kind and caring people out there, and that you can create your future; even if you don't have much.
All proceeds will be used for educational purposes, throughout the duration of her course. It is a 3 year degree. Costs include, registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation, stationery, equipment and textbooks. All funds will be used toward above costs.
We have a saying: "It takes a village". And it really does. Nobody ever gets to success or reaches goals without the help of others helping them along the way. Let us be part of making her future a possibility. Every tiny bit will help more than you could ever know.
Lets give my girl the education she needs, to help change the world!
Much love. x
