Six years after, I have returned to my beloved rowing club in Klaipeda to train girls alongside my full-time job. Sadly, the inventory used by me, our coaches and by girls‘ parents, perhaps, over 40 years ago are currently STILL used by perspective junior girls.

Boats are unsafe, with holes that have been reconciled multiple times. The boats are not only NOT fit for the WOMEN rowing, but also not in line with current racing boats' standards. Unfortunately, the yearly allocated budget from the city council is ten times less than price of a new boat. Therefore, a new boat only could park into the boathouse through the support of sponsors.

I have started my career as a rower in Lithuania over 10 years ago and it is heart breaking to see that nothing has changed since then. I remember my junior days: rowing in the SAME old boats and experiencing its negative impact on my performance. It downgraded my motivation, lead to injuries and, regrettably, bullying from other better equipped clubs. Fortunately, I had a chance to row abroad and finally TRULY ENJOY ROWING with the help of proper equipment. Help the girls to enjoy it and show their full potential too!

A second-hand high quality four-man boat costs around 20,000 EUR. The boat could be used by girls, women and junior boys. It would highly improve safety, motivation and performance of the young athletes, who are currently drowning in worn-out boats.
