My mum, Lesley Hutchings, is in need of help. She was making a range of skincare products called MAFActive that some people reported as ‘almost supernatural’. There was a raid at her home, and she has been charged with some extremely serious offences

The local papers report the arrest as being connected to ‘illegal medications’. The charges are serious and she faces five years jail term. Due to the nature of the allegations, all her money and assets have been confiscated.

This is a plea for help from you. My mum is vegan and lives a life of ‘harmlessness’. Her skincream business was small scale with tight margins. Both her business and her cream were registered with all the authorities that she was aware of. She drives a 10 year old car with 250,000km on the clock, and lives in a tiny house in rural France with her partner. She has 2 dogs and a retired pony. She never made much money from her business. The positive comments and the goodwill that she saw, meant so much more to her than numbers in a bank account. This is what kept her working at it for at least 70 hours a week, every week.

I am asking that anyone whose life was made better by my mum pays back some of the kindness that she has always shown to others.

The solicitors fees are estimated to be €90,000, there will be other costs such as translators, expert witnesses, travel costs to appear in front of the court in Paris etc etc. So we have a target to raise of €130,000.

Please help my mum stay out of jail. She is a broken woman now, and says that she would rather die than go back to jail for making something that only helped people, it never harmed. Four days in jail was the worst time of her life.

It was the extent of the ‘supernatural powers’ of the cream that drew the attention of the authorities. There has never been any issues with the product itself.

She is also blocked from discussing anything to do with her skincare business and from posting on social media. Please do not try to contact her directly, she is terrified that they are looking for any excuse to send her back to jail. It was only because we managed to obtain at very short notice a very experienced solicitor, that she was released on remand. It was clear that they wanted her to stay in jail, despite there being no harm caused to anyone. Things are unusually disproportionate.

If she has touched your life in a positive way, at anytime, please repay that kindness by contributing to this fund. Our family will do everything we can to help her, but we do not have anywhere near this amount of money. We can only pray that her kindness that she always extended to others is paid back to her.
