Hi, I'm Kelly. I'm writing this in the hopes of helping my son & family. I've never done one of these & so my nicely written 1st note here I saved & continued but I should have cut & pasted on an email to myself as they didn't save it! So don't think I can write it like it was.....ah well......live & learn!

My son called me tonight & asked if I could help with any of the Dr. bill for his 1st & only dog. I have racked up my own ER visit bills this month & am up to my own eyeballs as it goes.....anyway, this is why I am putting their story here.

So I will start by way of the 1st picture (Leo sick at the vets) to the last (with Grandson), my son found a small lab/pit puppy in a home in such bad conditions that he won't even tell me about, so he saved him & made him his own. Leo is like a "2nd dad" to my grandson since he has been with him his whole life as the baby pic shows. Who knows why but baby Leo was happiest NOT being outside in the rain & would retreat from a potty break & hover under the roof edge when rain caught him, He would come to you if offered a treat but if you said a bath as he got 1/2 way to you he'd shoot over to his bed & look unhappy. He would rather sit on your lap & lick you but now he's so big he can lick your face when you are standing up, He just thinks he's a cat! He only broke out of the huge yard that it his home when someone set off fireworks nearby, he ended up staying with a neighbor (practically under his feet, the whole time while waiting to be found.) A good kind dog, who would think of hurting him? He's doesn't even BARK!!

So last week, Leo started having terrible non stop seizures! Well they did what good parents do, they raced him to the closest vet. A emergency vet visit will set you back a chunk of money. They figured they'll have to deal with it & hope he got over whatever caused this quick! Unfortunately, it turned out he was poisoned with rat poisoning! Was someone evil lurking in the neighborhood? (we hope not) The 3rd or 4th night they knew if he wasn't better by the next morning they would have to let him go......this was the saddest home ever! Even the baby was sad. The vet was so worried about Leo she went to work the next morning extra early & hoped to NOT see him already passed away. To her relief & the family, He was sitting up, wagging his tail & had food all over his face. Apparently ate all the food that was set in his room that night! He must have felt all their sad goodbyes & rallied thru the night & made it!

So now as the last pic shows Leo & Ryker are happy at home & loving each other beyond words!

They both don't realize the bill comes to more than my 2 mortgages put together! While my son didn't ask for all the $ from me he did ask to borrow $500. He owes someone else $500 already as the Dr's need their pay. As happy as we all are to have Leo back, money is tight & yet we are very grateful the Dr's saved him!

So I just thought maybe if I could hand them at least some of the money, I could say this didn't come from me but from others who lovingly are helping a stranger to them, an unknown family I would be so happy. Thank you for any small amount!

I truly am so grateful for any help for them. I am rich in love for my family but not rich in money. I never have been rich but I hope this counts too!

Thank you for reading this, yours very truly, Kelly - mom & grandmom
