Lenuzzi’s stone plants

“Lenuzzi's stone plants” ("Lenuzzijeve kamene biljke" in Croatian) is the name of a book on the use of floral elements in architecture of the area known as Lenuzzi's Horseshoe (or Green Horseshoe) in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb.

The Lenuzzi Horseshoe is a U-shaped system of city squares with parks in downtown Zagreb conceived in 1882 by Croatian urbanist Milan Lenuzzi. In 1889 the entire horseshoe was finished with newly built Zagreb Botanical Garden. The park system consists of seven squares aligned on three straight lines.

The idea of the monograph is to show the floral elements encarved into buildings, sculptures, walls and fences with the description of their application and symbolism. The monograph will serve as for educational and tourist promotion of the Croatia’s capital and its iconic green urban area.
