Campaign Story
Having this kind of trial (kidney failure) doesn’t only require positivity, discipline and perseverance, but lots of faith that all financial requirements will be provided to assure complete wellness.
Daddy Alvarez (Mr. Luisito Bauyon Alvarez) is one of the patients we wanted to help out with his medication. Unfortunately this illness strikes to his life in time that he doesn’t even have work for his family’s living. It is never easy to be a father with four (4) children ages 6-21 yrs. old and to be a man who is fighting for his life.
To survive, he needs to undergo dialysis amounting Php 5,000.00 a day, Php.15,000.00 a week (3 times in a week) and Php. 60,000.00 a month. He also needs to monitor his haemoglobin that cost him around 10,000.00 in a month. Not to mention the medicines, Doctors/hospital fee and other so called “life extensions”.
Daddy Alvarez used to process his request to PCSO and Philhealth by himself. Luckily he was able to get support from these institutions that gave him temporary solutions. He was able to have 90 sessions, but instead of having it three (3) times a week, he rather spread it through months and have the sessions once a week. Yes, too far from the prescribed number. Too far from the number to save his life.
That is why, First North Dialysis Association is here to knock on your hearts to share in anyways to sustain the need of Daddy Alvarez.
