Legs for Zeus

My name is Sarah. My boyfriend and I have an Italian Greyhound named Zeus. If you know anything about the breed, you would know that they are extremely fragile. When Zeus was only 8 months old, he jumped off the seat of our couch (which had already been lowered by removing the legs and setting it directly on the floor) and broke his left leg. He broke straight through both bones in his leg and had surgery to put in a metal plate.

After breaking the left leg, he obviously began to favor his right leg and ended up jumping off the couch and breaking his right leg about a month and a half later. He had to have an identical surgery on his right leg, as well as a follow up surgery at the same time to remove some of the screws from his left leg, because the x-rays showed that the screws were taking all of the pressure off his bones and they were not healing.

Not including follow up appointments and x-rays, Zeus has had about $6500 in surgery this past year. We had to open a credit card and take out a loan to pay for it. We have also had to deal with the loss of a job and some major vehicle problems this year. Right now I am working a full time and a part time job, as well as going to school. I am finishing my bachelors degree and then hopefully starting my master program next year to become an elementary school teacher. Right now, we are falling short on our bills though. The interest on Zeus's bills is racking up fast and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Zeus is the sweetest, most loving dog and we would do anything for his well-being. We want to be able to continue to give him the care he needs, and getting back on our feet after this round of medical treatment would help to ensure that. We are not by any means expecting to get $4000 from this site or anything even remotely close to it, but every dollar will help us tremendously! Thank you so much!
