Salam Aldeen came to Lesbos to save lives as a volunteer lifeguard.
A task he fulfilled with utmust commitment and without any doubt in his mind that he was fulfilling the obligation we all have in accordance with International Human Rights. The Greek government consider it a crime and now Salam needs help himself.
You judge for yourself.

When asked the question
“Was all of this worth doing, even with your life at stake?” Salam
Aldeen’s response was simple yet stoic, “I’d do this over and over again
even just to know I saved a single life.”
Salam is the Founder of Team Humanity
Since founding Team Humanity, Salam Aldeen’s mission has been to help those who are victims of violence, conflict, and oppression. Salam launched this endeavor in 2015, in Lesbos, Greece. The organization has conducted operations throughout Greece, and provided essential resources to countless families that fled their homes with little more than the clothes on the backs. Salam has put his life on the line to save lives, and under his leadership, Team Humanity has rescued thousands of people in dire need.

Despite his extraordinary humanitarian efforts for those in need, the Greek government has treated Salam as a criminal, indicting him on human trafficking charges. The Greek government enacted policies to limit the number of refugees admitted entrance to the country, and in doing so, have made an example out of Salam. Salam was recently cleared to visit is family in Denmark for the first time in 2 years. They were later released after giving a bail of 10,000 Euros. Salam was the only one of the 4 who was unable to leave Greece. If convicted, he will face up to 10 years in prison. This should-be joyous time with loved ones is completely overshadowed by the impending trial set to occur on 7th of May this year.
We are not powerless in this fight against those who directly or indirectly enable these atrocities. Inaction on the behalf of good people perpetuates this heinous treatment people. It is in each and every one of our powers to help stand up for what is right and protect the people that need it most
