I have been hit with a tax bill which dates back to my recent court cases during which I had to cash in a UK pension to fund the lawyers. As a result I was given a UK tax refund which was classed as income in Ireland. As I was foolishly expecting to receive the damages that the court awarded me and also claim back expenses as I had also been awarded costs I did nothing about the Revenue. Now three years later they want their money. For the record the people that were supposed to pay the damages and court costs have gone quiet.
