My daughters live in boyfriend got my granddaughter drunk and attempted to hav sex with her. She managed to fend him off. It took her a week to get the courage to tell her mother. First her mom believed her, then after the guy sweet talked her, she turned it on my granddaughter and has made her life miserable every since. I found out about it a month later and got police and cps involved. They made the boyfriend move out, but it was a he said she said situation and couldn't be proven so they didn't charge him. My daughter told my granddaughter if she made him leave her her mother would "hate her forever."
Now my granddaughter is in a toxic situation. She wants to come live at my house but I need to get legal Help to do this as grandparents have no rights in California. My granddaughters daddy passed away when she was 8 and I am her only hope of getting out of there. My daughter is making her life miserable she iS trying to get her to admit She lied. She won't do this because she Is telling The truth. She has 2 more years of high school, she is in marching band and gets good grades. I am afraid if this Situation continues it will derail my granddaughter from successfully graduating and going to college.
Please any help is appreciated. I am 53 and have raised 4 kids. I have been at same job for 20 years. I have a bedroom for her and she could stay in current high school. Supporting her is not a problem. I am shocked my daughter chose her boyfriend over her daughter. I promised her daddy on his death bed I would look out for her, Since I notified police of the abuse, my daughter will not let me see her. 4 years ago when my daughter had a serious infection, she had papers drawn up that stated if she died, then I get custody. So her not allowing me to see her is retribution for believing my granddaughter. I have researched and found that chances of success are a lot better if she has legal representation, I just can not afford to hire a lawyer, so here I am asking, hoping.
Thank you for reading even if you can't help us.
