Campaign Story
As some of you know already, as part of my current employment in Turkey, my PhD has to be authenticated by UAK (the Turkish education council responsible for doctorates). Despite being from a highly reputable institution, The University of Nottingham, and despite numerous letters from Nottingham University attesting that my PhD is exactly the same as one completed full-time, UAK have refused to change their decision and I have now been stripped of my Dr title and my academic career in Turkey is effectively over. I have been assured by a Turkish lawyer who is an expert in such cases that the only option left is to pursue a counter-claim against UAK, which he believes that we should win. However, such a case will cost me 5000 lira in his legal fees and an additional 1000 for notarized translations of all my paperwork: 6000 lira is a huge amount on a teacher's salary.
So, if you would like me to be able to continue to live and work in Turkey, and if you can afford to spare the cash, please donate to my cause.

I feel for you! I’ve had to get my PhD legalised and recognised in two Middle Eastern countries. It’s a painful process. I hope this contribution helps you win the case! :-)

I absolutely loved your lectures and our institutions desperately need academicians like you; I just hope that you will be able to make this wrong right.
