Legal Defense Fund for Kenneth Santillan

Hi everyone, I am Alfred Aldave, and I am a close personal friend of Kenneth Santillan and his family.

Last September 10, 2020, while on his way to deliver food for his quarantined sisters, Kenneth Andrew Santillan received a message from someone he knew asking for assistance to transfer personal belongings from where the person is staying to a new place. Like in many instances Kenneth offered to help with the use of his sisters vehicle which he drives to fairy Public commuters within Metro Manila.

Upon arriving in the area where he is supposed to meet up with the person, around 4 armedmen in civilian clothing approached his vehicleand pointed a gun towards him. Fearing for hislife, Kenneth drove the vehicle forward and tried to drive away from this armed personnel. A few meters away he turned to a dead-end street where his vehicle was suddenly fired upon by guns. Having been cornered, this armed men after firing at the vehicle Kenneth was driving approached the said vehicle and broke the windows while Kenneth already fearing for his lifewas crying inside the vehicle asking for help and mercy. After pulling him out of the vehicle, Kenneth was removed out of his vehicle by over14 men (all in civilian clothing) and was surrounded, after which Kenneth emerged all bruised. A few minutes after members of the media arrived where the shot on the cover page was taken, and out of nowhere this men in civilian clothing who now identified themselves as policemen presented a gun, some bullets and some sachet of allegedly to be illegal drugs.

After being presented and wrongfully accusedhe was then brought to the police station. A day or two later someone contacted the family and asked if they wanted to settle the matter privately, by paying a specified sum of money. To which the family declined having no such amount. The person who contacted them just said that Kenneth will face many cases if they didn’t pay up.

A few days after, Kenneth was charged with multiple cases ranging from selling and possession of illegal drugs, possession of illegal firearms, attempted homicide, malicious mischief, assault, and resisting arrest. All of which are untrue, baseless and evidence were just planted.

Yes, Kenneth has a history with Illegal Drugs way back in 2016, but after going through having been imprisoned for more than three years, having been abducted only to resurface 2 daysafter the day he was abducted back in 2016, Kenneth has veered away from such activities aafter he regained his liberty in November 2019.

Sadly he is facing now all this cases, and have to defend his innocence and a chance of gettingback his liberty and to live a peaceful life. At age 35 Kenneth has a long life ahead of him. But with the pandemic and economic hardship brought about his circumstance of just regaining his liberty and having to start back scratch with a raging pandemic at the background for himand his family to have a decent means of earning, he finds himself not being able fund and hire a legal team to defend his case and make sure that truth and justice prevail.

That is why, as a close friend with his family, we are asking for your kindness to help us raise funds to pay for his legal team. All proceeds will be used for all legal expenses which are as follows:

Php 230,000 (4,600 USD) for the AccepatanceFee for all the cases filed against Kenneth.

Appearance Fee Php 7,000 (140 USD).
