Campaign Story
I am tired of hearing about people who have to fight corporates or places like SARS in the High Courts or even the Supreme court - and it ends up costing a fortune - even if you are in the right. A few years ago, a bad business deal caused us to lose our house because I could not afford the advocate's fees to represent me in High Court. These days I have bounced back from that, and I am setting up a trust fund (in conjunction with a panel of attorneys and advocates) to collect at least a million Rand to assist others who find themselves in the same position. The trust will be administered by a firm of attorneys in Cape Town (all details available on request) through their trust account.

Many deserving matters never reach court because the complainant is unable to access the sort of funding necessary to ensure the high quality legal services necessary to advance a matter through the courts. Carefully selecting deserving cases which will establish principles of law that will have a wide impact on many otherwise disenfranchised complainants would be a commendable route to easing the strangle hold big corporations with large resources and wealthy individuals have on the courts. Proper funding will make justice available to many who would otherwise be unable to avail themselves of their rights and Davids will again be able to face Goliaths on level playing fields.
