Leeds Half Marathon for Projects in Palestine

Deb is going to Palestine from 28th August for 2 weeks with 25 other students from Liverpool Hope University. Most of the time they will be based in Tulkarem, in the West Bank. On the trip she will visit various sites in the West Bank including a number of refugee camps, Hebron (a town which is a site of intense conflict), areas where the Israeli forces have constructed a large security wall cutting off Palestinians from their farmland and homes, as well as a number of  organisations which provide relief and assistance to Palestinians or are engaged in activist work.

We want to raise as much money as possible for the projects and refugee camps she will be visiting out there. 50% of all the money raised will go to a Women's project and the other 50% will be distributed to families struggling to meet their children's educational costs. 

To raise this money we have been training hard for the Leeds half marathon on May 11th. We are very nervous as we have never been that athletic! But we wanted to challenge ourselves to raise money for the women's group and the young people in Palestine.
