#LeaveOurKidsAlone is fighting Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) in South African schools and also any class-room based sex-ed.
We do not trust the South African government to have the best interests of our children at heart. Even if they agree to ridding the curriculum of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, there is no guarantee they will not roll out a sex-ed program under another name, yet still heavily influenced by UNESCO's CSE which is only designed to destroy the future of third world and developing countries.
CSE has been rolled out in South African schools since the year 2000. Most parents have been completely unaware until now. The Department of Basic Education have designed Scripted Lesson Plans which teachers will be forced to follow and which we believe exposes children to sexuality far too soon.
We are not against sex education. We believe that sex education is an integral part of every child's healthy and safe development. We are against government controlling sex-education and enforcing it in schools and especially at a young age.
Our Facebook group #LeaveOurKidsAlone amassed 100 000 members in 4 weeks and is growing still. The outcry against CSE is strong and we want to use funds to organise in all the communities across South Africa to give parents a voice to oppose something that was forced on them without any consultation.
