Here's what I'm doing ...
I was graduated as an Electronics and Control Engineer, and since then, I've learned a lot of interesting things; but the most important thing I've learned is that I still need to learn more and more!
The quality of education in my country is much below the competitive level, and that is why you should to do a lot of self-study if you wish to elevate your skill levels. And because I was always looking forward to work abroad, self-study was the thing I should do.
My challenge started with the beginning of 2016. I used to work 54 (9x6) hours a week for only about 190 USD / month, in a career not related to the engineering field; just because it was the available for me! with some little spare time that allows me to keep track of what is new in the technology field, and only keep in touch. Of course, was not able to enjoy my life, contact with my little family, or practice in the field of my study. That was so hard for me.
About three months ago, I read about study through the internet and saw a variety of MOOCs available, and truly I was surprised at how much I can learn in many technological fields. I've found what I need, so, I took my decision to drop my job, and get some time for study.
The only thing that went wrong is that I was not able to take over the costs of these courses along with my regular life spending. I contacted Coursera.org and I've got a financial aid for an electronics course I've finished and the Machine Learning course I'm in now.
I've finished a course on EdX in embedded systems but I cannot pay for certification or for the LaunchPad I have to work on to pass the course lab. Luckily, the certification payment deadline was extended to 2 May.
All these courses I'm taking as a preparation for the Udacity Machine Learning Nanodegree, which I hope to enroll in and complete.
I've never knew how I'll get 3000 USD (299x10 months) to pay for such a program, but I wished to do someday. Now, I have hope to raise money for these courses through this campaign.
Launching this campaign, I hope to do the following:
1- Pay for certifications and buy the LaunchPad for my EdX completed course, before its deadline.
2- Be able to enroll other courses in preparation for the nanodegree.
3- Be able to pay for the nanodegree.
4- Cover my spending during study.
5- Raise my skill, and travel to work abroad!
